Adolescent & Teen Therapy

Adolescents are able to reason, think, and make more decisions for themselves in comparison to younger children. Adolescents may benefit from a combination of talk, play, and expressive therapy to help communicate and interpret their feelings.

Teens, on the other hand, tend to be verbal and possess more self-awareness. We treat our teens with respect and autonomy similar to how we treat young adults, including respecting their right to confidentiality (with some exceptions). We find that teens are able to connect with our youthful therapists with few modifications.

We can help treat the following issues:

  • Depression
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Peer Relationships
  • Grief and Loss
  • Academic Motivation including ADHD
  • Behavior Management (Acting Out)
  • Anger
  • Trauma
